Day 71: Pancake Bay to Sault Ste. Marie

Pancake Bay
The weather forecast for today was for heavy rain and thunder.
We had the first rain shower at breakfast time, and then nothing really for the rest of the day. The day did stay cool as a result.

To keep things exciting on the road, Amy's panniers decided it would be fun if they detached from the bike at irregular intervals.  Not a thing you want happening when hurtling down a hill!

Some big hills were ahead of us on the road today, so we stopped just before the main one, grabbed a bite to eat on the veranda, and psyched ourselves for the job ahead. It turned out that the climbs weren't actually that bad.

Our destination was Velorution, a bicycle shop on the outskirts of Sault Ste. Marie with a (tiny) campsite at the back of the plot. We arrived mid-afternoon, unpacked and setup camp. Dinner was served downtown and was a mixture of Wendy's and Tim Horton's. Calorie rich and pretty tasty.

A quick shower back at the bike shop and that was me done for the day. More heavy rain was expected overnight, I just hope the already-saturated campsite can take it. I don't fancy waking up in a floating tent thank you very much!
